Mudpuddle Mental Health's mission is to teach family and friends how to support without controlling, empathize without catching the negative mood, and help without losing yourself.
It is difficult to see someone you love struggling to thrive. It can leave you feeling overwhelmed and powerless. The desire to fix them is overwhelming, but changing another person is not in your control. You can only change yourself, and that is where your power resides. You can learn to understand the illness, communicate in a more productive way, accept Plan B, and keep yourself healthy so you are available to offer support when and where support is needed.
